MTE 69D
Playback Pre-Amp

SONIC PERFORMANCE THAT RIVALS THE FINEST DIGITAL SYSTEMS FROM YOUR MAGNA-TECH.

Advance your technology 20 years in just 20 minutes.

MTE, recognized as the leader in sprocket film recording technology is pleased to bring you absolute audio purity, with the premiere playback amplifier, the 69D Twin Servo.

The 69D retrofits to your existing Magna-Tech in just 20 minutes and produces sound that is exceptionally tight, clean, and clear. You'll work faster and experience a level of audio quality previously unattainable with magnetic film. When combined with the 68D record electronics and Dolby SR noise reduction, the 69D offers overall performance that rivals even the finest digital systems at a fraction of the cost.

With the 69D’s uncompromising circuit design, distortion and noise approach theoretical limits, the entire amplifier input to output has no coupling capacitors. Instead MTE utilizes the same computer optimized DC servo technology used in the JENSEN TEC award nominated Twin Servo microphone pre-amplifiers. This results not only in ruler flat frequency response, but truly outstanding transient response as well.

Instant Recall of 16 Stored Setups

Each amplifier internally stores up 16 setups in non-volatile memory. Each setup includes conventional gain, LF, and HF plus head-bump and top end trims. Each of these setups can be automatically selected by just changing head stacks, and any or all of this setup can be quickly and easily copied into another amplifier, speeding initial setup or hardware replacements. Since there are no trim pots to drift or become noisy, all adjustments are extremely stable and repeatable.

Eliminate Headbumps

Special equalizers at 32, 45, 64 and 90 Hz enable virtual elimination of low frequency peaks and dips caused by head geometry.  This feature is especially important if noise reduction (i.e.: Dolby SR) is used or multi-generation dubs are made.  Headbump errors are greatly magnified, often to the point of audible degradation.

Fast, Easy Installation

Since the 69D is an exact physical and electronic retrofit made specifically for MTE systems, it mounts just like the original and there are no connectors to rewire. Simply drill one new mounting hole and connect a few wires for the 69S preset selector (replaces the 16/35 relay) and installation is complete. A six-track retrofit can be done in less than 20 minutes.

Fast, Convenient Adjustment

Setups are adjusted with the "69DP" electronic screwdriver programmer. This hand held portable unit communicates with the amplifiers through their audio outputs. Plugging the programmer into any track allows for adjustment of all tracks in a Transport either at the transport or at a patch bay (up to 100 feet away). Simply push buttons to select track number and function, then adjust with the thumbwheel. A barograph shows where the setting is within its range.

Performance You Can Count On.

MTE’s 69D amplifier represents the best way to improve the sound quality and extend the life of your current Magna-Tech investment. Backed by the company's 30+ year reputation for reliability and integrity, the 69D, like all other MTE products, delivers high performance and exceptional value.
