8 LB SPECIFICATIONS

The 8 L-B interlock control and master sync generator produces the quadrature drive pulses to synchronize and drive Magna-Tech electronic drive recorders, reproducers, projectors and footage counters. The 8 L-B can be referenced to the power mains, an internal reference xtal or composite video sync.

24, 25 or 30 frame rate maybe selected. The 24/25 frame is available on the front panel and the 30 frame by an internal switch.  When video sync is used as a reference a video presence indicator shows the 8 L-B is locked to video frame rate.

High-speed selection of 2X, 4X (for 2000, 10,000 series) or 3X, 6X, 10 X (for 600 series) is available on the control panel. An internal switch selects the most used high-speed rate to automatic setting when A.C. power is activated.

All operational motion controls are located on the front panel of the 8 L-B, (FWD, STOP, REV, FAST FWD, FAST REV, JOG FWD AND JOG REV). These motion controls and the 24/25 frame, 2X, 4X or 3X, 6X, 1OX are available on two connectors for remote control operation.

A Ready ON, Ready OFF switch activates the local and remote controls of the 8 L-B. This prevents accidental operation while film is being loaded on the film transports.

A selector switch is provided for controlling the operation of the PR-635/6-B when the projector is used as a Master, with automatic routing of the encoder output to the internal distribution amplifier. The switch also provides facilities for a second projector and two external control devices such as a Selsyn distributor.

The 8 L-B supplies eight isolated pulse outputs to drive film transports. It also has two high level RS232 outputs for use where long transmission lines are used.
