SPECIFICATIONS-93B PLAYBACK SYNCHRONIZER
The 93B Playback Synchronizer is an interface unit for synchronously transferring audio
from magnetic Tape or other sources to sprocketed magnetic film. The synchronizer operates
between a tape playback transport, equipped with a sync playback head, and the MTE
electronic drive film transport, either 16mm or 35mm. The synchronizer translates the 50
Hz. or 60 Hz. sync signal recorded on the magnetic tape to a signalcompatible with the MTE
electronic drive film transports operating i6 the interlock mode. Selectable film speeds
of 24, 25 or 30 frames are provided.
The internal memory system provides constant speed if the sync signal drops out. The
memory system provides a constant speed based upon the last sync signal accepted by the
93B Playback Synchronizer. If desired, a line reference signal or video reference signal
may be substituted for the Xtal reference. Transfer at 2x speed can be accomplished if
desired.
LED displays indicate the presence of a sync signal. A single control adjusts the sync
signal level. LED displays presence of video vertical sync signal. Stop and start switches
are located on the synchronizer for remote control of the MTE recorder. The synchronizer
has dual outputs so two simultaneous film transfers may be done. Additional film transfer
possible with auxiliary distribution amplifier. Synchronizer may be rack mounted with
accessory brackets. The synchronizer can correct for tape speed variations of ±20% sync
speed and ±15% at 2x speed.
